Guam is an island blessed with a rich cultural legacy and spectacular
natural beauty. We welcome all visitors with the Hafa Adai spirit
of genuine warmth and hospitality. The name Guam comes from the
ancient Chamorro word, Guahan, meaning, "we have." What
we have to share with you is an island well known to international
travelers for its turquoise and tranquil seas, white sandy beaches,
and year-round tropical climate. Guam also has the finest luxury
hotels in the Micronesian region and a world of duty free shopping.
So please join us as we give you a sneak preview of what our beautiful
island has to offer in our most recent publication, Guam's Natural,
Cultural, and Historic Sites Guidebook.
This is the first comprehensive publication pertaining to Guam's
spectacular natural beauty and rich cultural legacy the Bureau
has prepared for visitors. As you read through this guidebook,
we will give you-visitor and resident alike-little known cultural
and historic information about our island. We are committed to
offering you an unforgettable travel experience. The up-to-date
material contained in this guidebook is organized into four geographic
sections-North, Tamuning and Tumon, Central, and South to help
you quickly locate sites of interest you may find interesting and
worthwhile.
The Bureau, composed of over 400 member businesses and individuals,
looks forward to welcoming you with open arms to our island. If
you have questions or comments pertaining to information contained
in this publication, please feel free to contact any of the Bureau's
overseas offices, or contact the Guam Visitors Bureau directly.
We're ready, and we're waiting for you!
