Waterfalls to end another great year of hiking Guam!
 
Every Saturday, Guam Boonie Stompers offers public hikes to a variety of
destinations such as beaches, snorkeling sites, waterfalls, mountains, caves,
latte sites, and World War II sites. We meet at 9:00 AM in the Center Court
of Chamorro Village in Hagatña. The cost is $2.00 for hikers over 12.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Hikers should provide
their own transportation. Guam’s trails are not developed. Weather
conditions can make the hikes more difficult than described. No reservations
required.

December 3
               
Dante River    
 
Difficulty Rating: Very Difficult   

Duration: 6 hours for 6 miles

Explore the stream leading up to Dante Falls in southeastern Guam. Bring: 4 quarts water, hiking boots, swimsuit, gloves, sun screen, sunglasses, insect repellent, lunch, and camera.

Special conditions: Swordgrass, steep slopes, and walking in water.

 

December 10  

Ben's Falls to Mr. Lamlam

Difficulty Rating: Difficult   

Duration: 6 hours for 0.7 miles

We journey to 2 waterfalls in southern Guam. Bring: 2 quarts water, hiking boots, water shoes, swimsuit, gloves, sun screen, sunglasses, insect repellent, lunch, and camera.

Special conditions: Walking in water, swordgrass, and climbing one steep slope with a rope.

  
December 17  

Cetti Waterfalls                

Difficulty Rating: Difficult      

Duration: 3 hours for 3.6 miles

We hike down the Cetti River to Cetti Waterfall then back trail. Bring: 3 quarts water, hiking boots, water shoes, swimsuit, snorkeling gear, gloves, sun screen, sunglasses, insect repellent, lunch, and camera.

Special conditions: Hiking in water, down a steep slope, and hiking up a slope.

Priest's Pools
 
Difficulty Rating: Easy
 
Duration: 3+ hours for 1.5 miles
 
We hike at the Merizo ridgeline and enjoy a scenic view of Cocos Island then cool off in the freshwater pools of Pigua River.  Bring: 2 quarts water, hiking boots, gloves, swimsuit, sunscreen, insect repellant, lunch, and camera.  Special conditions: mud.
 

December 24
 
Overnight at Mt. Lamlam for New Year
 
Difficulty Rating: Difficult
 
Duration: 4 hours
 
WE meet at Sella Bay Overlook on Route 2 along the Agat-Umatac Highway at 5:00 p.m. for an overnight campout to celebrate the New Year atop Mt. Lamlam.  Bring: FLASHLIGHTS, 3 quarts water, hiking boots, sunscreen, insect repellant, lunch, camera, and all your own camping equipment, adequate food and beverages for the evening.  Hiking over rough rocks and a long ascent.

Stomp tips: Bring plenty of water with you on a hike. Tell someone where
you are going and when to expect your return.
